The house is known as the Keay residence. It was designed in 1947 by B.C. Binning with consulting architect Ned Pratt + is considered an early example of International Style. The original blueprints are in the Museum of Architecture at Mc Gill University in Montreal. The house appeared on the May 1951 cover of Western Homes + Living and more recently revisited in Western Living ~ May 2007. It has been photographed for a cover + fashion editorial for Grazia magazine, advertising for Microsoft, Veer + Getty Images. The house was also in an exhibit at the W.V. Museum + Archives called Living on the Edge - West Vancouver Modernist Homes 1940 -1970.
